Declan turns 1

I can't believe that this little guy turned 1.
He looks like a big boy and not a little baby. It has been such a blast to watch him learn and grow.
He can say, Dadda, Momma, More and sign "all done".
He walks like a champ.
At his first year check up he weighed 24 pds. And was in the 90th percentile for his height.

We had a HUGE party for him. I figured the first baby, first birthday should be a big deal and it was.
All the people that we invited came, which included.
The Summerhays family (Dale, Eileen, Matt, Dan, Jill and Tim, Amanda, Hailey and Ryan).
My dad and his wife Jacque.
Th Lindbergs (Steve, Jennifer, Sam and Jennifer).
Lauren and Aaron Borits.
Bonnie and Gary Lindberg.
Rayna and Travis Humphrey's.
Scott and Pamela MacDonald.
Jason and Jennifer Peterson.
Annika and Steve Round.
It was a full house but we wanted everyone who was a part of Declan's first year of life.

I had a "Mustache"theme and everyone really got into and some even came with their own mustaches.

He got lots of nice gifts.

This was my rocking chair when I was a baby. My dad fixed it up so Declan can use it!

He didn't get to messy but it was fun to watch him eat his cake.
Doug's best friend Scott and his daughter Lilly. Declan and Lilly are only a week and a half apart.

Overall the party was a blast! I was overwhelmed with all who came to celebrate and show their support. We love little Declan and can't wait to see him keep growing!

E-meals Update

So I have now tried the E-meals for a few weeks and so far I have LOVED it!
It has been so nice to take all the stress out of menu planning and shopping list making.
Now I print out the menu and the already made shopping list. I pick my favorite meals and that's it!!!

Doug has been very excited about this as well. He has been telling people how he started it and he asks me everyday what we are having for dinner. And the best part of it is, if the meal isn't that good I can blame it on e-meals. haha

But I have liked almost everything I have tried. So I will keep doing e-meals for a long time!!

They have a 30% off deal going on now....so it will only be a few dollars a month. Worth a try if I say so myself. And if you do try it then put me as a reference:)
Just go to meals.com and through monday (tomorrow) use the code cybermonday to get 30% off.

1/2 Marathon Training

Doug and I are doing a half marathon in January. We did one together a few years ago and it was fun. But it ended up being a lot harder than it needed to be because we did not train properly. We did about half our training runs and I got hurt in the process so I really didn't train how I should. But we finished it and survived.
This time around we decided we would train right. Keep with our schedule.
It was actually been fun to run together. We have a nice jogging stroller and just take turns pushing. It is definitely good training to run while pushing a stroller that is loaded up.
I got a portable speaker so we can hook up our I pod and listen to whatever we want while we run. It's quite the set up. We now call our training run our "family time".

Obama

Well, I guess I was hopeful but I thought Romney was going to win. That enough people saw who he really was and they were tired of him. But I guess I was wrong. Yesterday America proved that they wanted obama. A man who doesn't even put his hand over his heart when he says the pledge of allegiance.
This makes me feel sad. What happened to the country our forefathers created and the people who fought for the constitution. America has changed and yesterday proved that. This are the people who voted for him.
That picture scares me. Give me chills. I just don't understand. I feel sad for us and for our children who will inherit a country that is a mess and with billions of debt. Who has plenty of oil to drill in our own land but won't because of environmentalist.

If anything last night made me realize how we need to get ready and prepare. These are the signs of the times and this is now the world we live in. Am I ready? No....And I know we have time. But this has opened my eyes and I need to get my self and family ready.

I need to get more spiritually prepared to teach my children. I need to learn more about the constitution to teach my children.
I need to get my food storage prepared and get my house prepared.

I don't mean to sound so depressing but I just feel this strong feeling that we all need to stick together and get prepared because we live in very scary times.
I am glad we have the gospel that leads and guides us. If we follow those guidelines and principles we will have peace and I am forever thankful for that peace.

Birthday Party Fun

Doug's best friend Scott McDonald, had their baby girl a week before we had Declan. It has been fun to all get together and play with the 2 babies. Lilly Jade had her first birthday party and it was fun. The theme was Teddy Bear Picnic in the park......I am so sad that I forgot my camera :(((( But our friend had hers and took 2 pics of Declan.

There was a lady there who made balloon animals and Declan got a sword to play with. He is also wearing the cute hat that the babies got to wear! So cute!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year. We went to 2 ward parties....our ward CC2 and then CC1 on Sat.
Doug of course dressed up as Elvis and Declan was mini Elvis.
Eileen helped me make Declan's cape to wear and I spray painted his shoes blue! He was sooo cute!
He has been learning how to walk and everyone loved him walking around at the parties....

For actual Halloween night, it was very nice weather. There are lots of Trick or Treaters that come to the neighborhood so it makes it really fun!
We set up a table on the Driveway and handed out the candy. Doug wore his Elvis costume and was a huge hit! So many people said that they loved his costume and one lady even took a picture of him.
I had Halloween tunes and of course Elvis songs playing which made the atmosphere more fun!

After handing out the candy, we all had dinner together and it was a very nice and fun evening.
