New Port

3 years ago my parents bought a Marriott Time Share, there intend was to have a family vacation one year and the next year they would go on a trip. Since my mom passed away, he made 2 family vacations in a row.
So the whole family went to New Port beach and boy was it a blast! The resort is beautiful and the employee's treat you amazing!

There was a free shuttle that took us to the beach, so on Monday we hit the beach.

Declan loved his little pool, and it kept him entertained for quite a while.

At the resort they had tons of activities you could sign up for. The girls decided to sign up for the "Iron Chef" competition. We had to use a secret ingredient which was Potato chips. We made cookies and they tasted pretty yummy!

Tuesday we went to Balboa Island. It is a fun place to take the kids. We had lunch, went to a boat ride to see the Sea Lions, went on the ferris wheel, shopped and of course we had ice cream!

On Wednesday we spent the day swimming at the resort and that night my dad took us to a nice dinner at a place called, Roy's.

We played, Just Dance.

Thursday we went to the Long Beach Aquarium.

We spent a lot of time in the activities center, which had lots of fun things for the kids to do.

Overall it was a GREAT vacation and I can't wait to go there again. Next year we will be going to Park City!

Summer Love

I love the summer! Swimming, sun, beach, snow cones, and of course my birthday! This saturday we had one of those moments that I wished I could freeze the time and soak in the moments.
Doug was washing the cars and since the air conditioning was broken in the house, Declan and I decided to join him out side. I set up Declan's little pool and we joined cooling off. Doug made snow cones (our daily summer snack) and we all sat and enjoyed them. My favorite thing to just sit and chill and enjoy my boys!

Las Vegas

My sister Kristi, her best friend is getting married, and was doing her Bacholerette party in Las Vegas. They were planning on hitting a few clubs and since Kristi lives in Vegas she decided to go to 1 club. She invited me along, and I decided "what the heck?" and before you know it the plane ticket was bought and Vegas bound I was....
Declan and I flew out there early Thursday morning. We had to leave at about 5:00 am to catch our flight and I thought Declan would sleep on the way there and on the plane, but I was wrong! He was wide awake the WHOLE time. Yippeeee, for me. But he was a champ and only fussed for about 5 mins on the plane. So I was grateful for  that.
Once we landed, Kristi came and picked me up and we headed to her house. Later on that afternoon, she was planning on having a luncheon for the party girls, and it was nice to be there to help get that ready.

The lunch was a huge success and she did a great job. The girls had a fun time and were grateful for some home cooked food.
On, Friday it was very hott, so Kristi and I took the kids to a water park, which is a park that has water fountains that kids can play in. It was very fun, and Declan loved it!
That night it was the Bachelorette party and since Kristi and I didn't have "clubbing" clothes, we stopped by Ross to pick up something to wear. We choose Black glitter.
After the kids were put to bed and Layne was put on Babysitting duty, we were off to the club.
It was going at the club Pure, at the Cesar's Palace. Once we got there we noticed that there were lots and lots of people in line, but having never been to a club before we had no idea that was not normal.
Then I noticed a huge sign that said that is was Kendra Wilkinson's Birthday bash, and that explained the crowds.
Once we meet up with the other girls, it was time to go into the club. It was a mob scene but we staked a place on the dance floor and danced for a while. But once Kendra came out it was much to crowded so we left.

Overall it was a fun night and I am glad I went to support.

Santa Barbra

Doug has a family from his mission that he is still in contact with and they live in Las Vegas. They went through the Temple about 2 years ago and we were able to go and attend that ceremony. In June they came down to Santa Barbra and they called us up to come down for the day and meet them.
Doug and I drove up the night before and stayed near by, and in the morning we meet up with them at their hotel. We all decided to go to the Santa Barbra Zoo. The weather was perfect and it was a wonderful day for the Zoo.
Declan was a champ and just chilled in his stroller and had fun being held by everybody.
After the Zoo we went back to their hotel and went swimming. After the swimming the adults decided to leave the kids and Declan at the hotel and go out for a nice dinner. SInce they have an older daughter we knew she would love baby sitting Declan. We all went to a nice dinner at a restaurant that over looked the water.

We had a great time and it was nice to be able to catch up with them and take a day off to relax and enjoy!

Father's Day

We had a wonderful Father's day and I hope that Doug felt special on his first Father's day.
It started off with him sleeping in, and getting breakfast in bed, which was cinnamon rolls. We went to church and the ward had a luncheon for all the dads.  After church we came home and got ready for the lunch we were having at our house. The whole Summerhays family came for lunch. Bonnie and Gary were also in town for the event and we all had a great time. My dad grilled some chicken and salmon. Eileen (doug's mom) brought her famous potato salad. Bonnie made fruit salad. It was all so yummy!
After dinner we did some gifts and then we went to the Summerhays for the party over there.
Doug's sister Jill did a really fun game, that included all the men. They had to measure who's foot was the smallest, who's thumb was the biggest and who could sing the alphabet the fastest. It was very fun and every one got very competitive. Eileen even had to step in a be the judge to make sure all was fair.
We had ate yummy mud pie dessert and did more presents Over all we had a great day.
I am truly grateful for Doug and what a wonderful husband he is to me. When it comes to being a father he is above any expectation I had.  He truly loves being a father and enjoys every moment. He has a blast playing with Declan and watching him grow and learn. It will be so fun to see him grow and learn as a father though out the many years. I sure love you Doug!
